Indoor Pools

Like almost all elements of Home Design the range of choice available today when it comes to designing and constructing Indoor Swimming Pools is simply mind blowing.

A rather loose definition of a “swimming pool” is simply an artificially enclosed body of water intended for swimming or water-based recreation -  and there is certainly nothing new about building swimming pools indoors    historical record has indoor swimming pools dating as far back as the 3rd millennium BC.

Oxford University constructed its first major indoor pool in 1839 at Temple Cowley, and swimming began to become popular in a mainstream sense when the Amateur Swimming Association was founded in 1869 in England, and the Oxford Swimming Club in 1909 with its home at Temple Cowley Indoor Pool.

There are several reasons that you might consider an Indoor Pool as a part of a new home of remodeling project:

A swimming pool offers welcome respite from hot summer days, and gives us an opportunity to unwind, enjoy ourselves as well as being one of the best forms of exercise.

If you live in cooler climates you can use Indoor Pools year round, without having to worry about the weather conditions as you would with an outdoor pool.

Like the Kitchen Area an Indoor Swimming Pool has the potential to become a major focal point and gathering place in your house so it is wise to invest your design time and resources on this element accordingly.  Whatever time you spend on getting the design right now will pay you dividends many times over.
